July 2005 wrap-up:
Mark Van Dyke (loosespokes1135) of Grand Haven, MI has won
the 2004–5 Internet Cribbage Championship. Van Dyke played early and
often, and by May 5 he had fulfilled his quota of 100 rated tournaments
while accumulating 992 IRPs, a mark that no one was able to meet by
season's end on July 31. John Schafer (netview85) of
Battle Creek, MI and
Charles Rodgers (KALEKAI) of Honolulu, HI retained their
longstanding grip on Second and Third Place respectively, fending off a
late challenge from Fourth Place finisher Donald
LeVack (_redeagle0) of Colorado Springs. Six other players
with over 700 IRPs round out the 2004–5 All-Internet Team, which
consists of the season's ten highest rated players.
The ACC held 177 separate Internet tournaments during the season. 229 members participated in
at least one event, with 194 earning IRPs. As a result, the top 19 finishers
qualified for the 2006 ACC Tournament of Champions at the Sands
Regency
in Reno. (read more...)
One month to go
June 2005 wrap-up:
One month to go in the 2004–5 season, and Mark Van Dyke and John Schafer are sitting pretty atop the ratings list. Charles Rodgers is clinging to Third Place, but Donald LeVack making a late move,
notched 144 IRPs in June by qualifying in 11 of 12 tournaments played. (read more...)
Van Dyke sets the bar at 992
May 2005 wrap-up:
Mark Van Dyke (loosespokes1135) added
3 IRPs to his record as he played in his 100th rated tournament, ending the season with an ACC-leading 992 IRPs. Also in the
book for the season is John Schafer (netview85), who made a nice run of 66 IRPs in his last five tournaments
to ensconce himself in Second Place. Both men will be very hard to knock
off their pedestal as the rest of the field completes rated play over
the season's last two months. (read more...)
Some fresh faces
April 2005 wrap-up:
To no one's surprise, Mark Van Dyke (loosespokes1135) of
Grand Haven, MI remains at the top of our standings. Trailing him are
John Schafer (netview85) of Battle Creek, MI and Charles Rodgers (KALEKAI)
of Honolulu, HI. Donald LeVack (_redeagle0) of Colorado
Springs cracked the Top Ten for the first time this season. The rest of
the leader board shows little change from March, but we do have five
first-time winners this month. (read more...)
Van Dyke and Rodgers top
another record month
March 2005 wrap-up:
After spending several months clinging to a 10 or 20 IRP lead, Mark Van Dyke (loosespokes1135)
continued his Winter breakout, riding a 195 IRP March to a comfortable
lead over Charles Rodgers (KALEKAI), whose 204 IRPs were
the best of the month. John Schafer (netview85)
is right behind in Third Place, having spent the entire season ensconced
in the top three. Meanwhile, the ACC set several attendance records for
open Internet tournaments.

The usual suspects
February 2005 wrap-up:
Mark Van Dyke (loosespokes1135) continues to lead in both
IRPs and tournaments played, notching yet another victory on
February 5, his sixth of the
year. John Schafer (netview85)
of Battle Creek, MI, who notched 102 IRPs in January, swept both
Cribbage Cup events in February to improve from Third to Second Place.

A record month
January 2005 wrap-up:
Internet Statistician Don Ellis reports that ACC Internet Cribbage set a
new participation record during January 2005. We had 1,126 players in 13
single-elimination events. That's an average of 85 players per event
(with a low of 76 and a high of 102). An 50.4 of those 85 players per
event were ACC members. Additionally there was a 26-player members-only
Cribbage Cup. Not only are we attracting a nice crowd, we are also
drawing some of those guest players into the ACC, growing the membership
of our game's premier sanctioning organization. (read more...)
Van Dyke still in the lead
November–December 2004
wrap-up:
As our season rounds the halfway point, Mark Van Dyke (loosespokes1135)
continues to set the pace, with 524 IRPs through the end of December.
Behind him lurk Donald Olney (olney_1147) and Scott
Buhrow (MrB_IA218). Though they trail Van Dyke by 69 and 108
IRPs respectively, these men hold one advantage: they have played in
fewer tournaments, and thus have more rated tournaments available to
play in before reaching their quota of 100. This means that Olney and Buhrow, or someone else,
might catch up to Van Dyke once the season wraps up. Keep an eye out for
Jerry Hardy, who has reached Ninth Place in only 30 tournaments! (read more...)
World Cribbage Congress?
October 2004
wrap-up:
One of the best things about ACC Internet Cribbage is its geographical
reach, and many of our winners have come from such far-flung places as
Newfoundland, Wyoming and Saskatchewan, where there is little organized
over-the-board cribbage. Now you can add France to the list, as we have
our first ever tournament winner from Europe. (read more...)
Schafer takes an early lead in
2004-5
August/September 2004
wrap-up:
John Schafer (netview85) of Battle Creek, MI has the hot cards as our first full season of ACC Internet Cribbage
gets under way. John combined three outright victories, including a
double elimination contest with two Second Place finishes to amass 312 IRPs in 21 tournaments during August and September, easily eclipsing his
personal tally of 166 IRPs during the inaugural 2004 season. There's
still a long way to go, but hats off to John for a great start. (read more...)
